DC Association of Black Psychologists………

On November 21, 2009, Trinity held its first DC ABPsi Conference which was centered on “Careers in Psychology”. This conference was very interesting because we had eight speakers including Trinity’s own Dr. Christopher Bishop, who teaches Social Psychology and Forensic Psychology. The panelist included Michel E. Barnes, Ph.D, Dr. Shawn Bediako, Lula A. Beatty, Tara Benn, Rashika Rentie, Kristi G. Rivers, M.S., and Satira S. Streeter who are all accomplished in the field of psychology. Each individual at th conference led roundtable discussions with students giving insight on future career plans and future educational goals. While the students were being introduced to life after college and getting to know the prestigious individuals they also were connecting with other students from other schools such as Howard University, John Hopkins, University of Maryland and Bowie State.
