Nothing is quite as terrifying as the job market right now for students graduating from college. Many are about to leave their colleges/universities with no job offers and a nationwide unemployment at 9.1%. What students need right now is a job market they feel safe entering into after receiving their diplomas. One thing is clear: We need a solution to rebuild the American Economy and the American Jobs Act is one possible solution.

Why support the American Jobs Act? Because America needs to be put back to work. The plan includes tax cuts for small business to hire more employees, retaining teachers and improving our schools, rebuilding our infrastructure and tax relief for the American worker. The plan will create jobs in job fields typically dominiated by young Americas and improve the retention in those areas. The plan is fully paid for as part of the President’s long-term deficit reduction plan, which means students will not have to foot the bill later on.

More than 80 percent of students last year left college without a job. Congress needs to act fast to help secure this economy before more students enter the work force without the possibility of a steady job.
