I.
Federal DREAM Act will give students a chance to adjust their immigration
status.
B. Cost of deportation is too high.
C. Economic benefits of having Dreamers stay in U.S.
II. Dreamers are among most successful immigrants
A. Dreamers are high school graduates who have talent and skill to do well in collegeor serve in the military.
B. Dreamers are fully integrated into U.S. culture.
C. Dreamers want to make a contribution to their local communities, states, and
country.
III. Immigration policy is not set in stone.
A. Immigration policy changes as demographics and times change.
B. Dreamers may be in violation of immigration laws but their situation calls for achange in the laws.
C. A new century and new economy call for a new immigration policy for Dreamers.
By selecting the theme “Words of Hope; Acts of Courage” Communication Club members want to encourage their fellow CAS students to present speeches that will inform listeners about the different ways that words, either spoken or written, and actions, either dramatic or modest, can and do lead to a better world.
