Sponsors of the debate include Starbucks and the national chapter of the NAACP. The two teams will debate whether gun manufacturers should be held liable for mass killings and if women should be required to sign up for the Selective Service System.

Spring 2013 Speech Contest
Trinity’s Communication Club is sponsoring an undergraduate public speaking contest. The contest will take place in the Rose Parlor, April 17 at 5:00 p.m. The theme of the contest is “Words of Hope; Acts of Courage.”
Throughout history individuals have articulated the hopes and dreams of their generation. Many have also acted in courageous ways to bring about change so that hopes could be realized and dreams turned into reality. By selecting the theme “Words of Hope; Acts of Courage” Communication Club members want to encourage their fellow CAS students to present speeches that will inform listeners about the different ways that words, either spoken or written, and actions, either dramatic or modest, can and do lead to a better world.
