CAMPAIGN TRIP
There is arguably no state in this election more crucial to win than Virginia. That’s why the Trinity College Democrats, DC Federation of College Democrats and  DC Young Democrats are making this our largest campaign trip of the year. Transportation, food, and housing will be covered.

This trip will be getting out the vote (GOTV); we will be targeting Democratic voters, reminding them to go out and vote. The VA Beach/Hampton Roads area that is crucial because this area is home to many Democrats, but is surrounded by primarily Republican counties and even states to the south and west. Without our presence, Romney and Allen will easily outnumber Obama and Kaine’s volunteer presence in the area.

We’ll be coordinating directly with the Obama campaign, and knocking doors for Obama, Tim Kaine, and Paul Hirschbiel for Congress. We all know how competitive Obama’s race is in Virginia, but Tim Kaine’s Senate race and Paul Hirschbiel’s House race are also competitive and crucial to win in order to pass progressive legislation for the 21st century.

We just had a wonderful midterm week happen! Quick recap of the awesome events that different students and clubs put together:

-Trinity Tigers Voleyball won their match against Washington Adventist 3-2 (Go Tigers!)

-WSAC (Women’s Student Action Coalition) had an extremely successful screening of a moving piece of cinematography ‘Half the Sky’ (if you haven’t seen it, you must — it will change how you think, and cause you to invest in kleenex along the way)

-SGA sponsored a Rock the Vote T-Shirt event (let’s stand and vote!)

-PAC (Performing Arts Club) sponsored a screening of Twilight (part 1 of the final movie) –> if you’re into werewolves, vampires, with a splash of the Time Traveler’s Wife (except that there is a awkward glittering alabaster Brit instead of Rachel McAdams)…this flick is for you!

 

We all survived midterms! Congrats on making it, everyone! We’re halfway through the semester. Let’s do it!
